~ Just playing in the kitchen ~

Hello to all of you bloggy friends on this wonderful, beautiful weather, kinda day !! Soo nice, cuz it's beautiful sunshiney, BUT, wonderful breeze in the air !! we have been working out back all day, WE .. well, I watch alot, and suggest alot, BUT, I kinda got kicked out of there, soo into the kitchen this girlie went, We are having friends for a bbq ... soo I was getting things ready for that .. Going to grill some steaks and chicken, fresh veggies from the garden, salad, and some baked potatoes ... SIMPLE !! I was going through some cookbooks to see about the most important part of the dinner, and of course, that is dessert .. RIGHT !! Soo, I decided and baked a german chocolate cake ... YUMMERS !!

As I was going through everything I thought I would share some pretty PiNkS and rOSeS in the kitchen, you can see snippets all over the place .. See my new pretty rosey apron, another, birthday gift, think I may wear this while serving dinner, I WILL get laughed at tho .. Right when everyone thinks they've seen it all, I pull out something else soo girlie, and PiNkY !! Makes this girlie smile tho ..

I'm sure hoping you are all out doing some fun things, and hanging with family and friends .. 'tis the season we start staying outdoors most of the day .. I just LoVe the summer, and all that comes with it .. such a casual time .. wishing you all sunshiney days, with a wonderful cool breeze too .. Blessings and LoVe to each of you my bloggy friends ~ xo

I love all your pretty kitchen thingees.

Enjoy your barbeque. It's way too humid here for an outdoor party, maybe it will cool down later.

  12. Sweet T ~ Love that apron, I can picture you all gussied up in that apron holding that chintz tea mug, cooking away in the kitchen ... now you should have made that quick & easy Better Than Sex Cake I shared last week ... that would be a hit at any event ... but I'd settle for a good chocolate cake, too, so move over, save me a seat & a huge chunk of that cake ... we've got LOTSA gabbing to catch up on & share.

Your pinks are fabulous, as always ... where ever do you put all these treasures, girlie?
WOW! so many lovelies you keep sharing ... they are awesome.

We had 3 whirlwind days ... Ansel's presentation of Abe Lincoln at school on Friday, dressed to depict Abe, with a fabulous mind of memory for his 5 minute speech.

Sat. we spent 2 1/2 hours at Alyssa (adopted kid-ling) & Tatiana's dance recitals ... OMG! T, you'd have gone crazy enjoying our 3 yr. old Alyssa dressed like a pink butterfly dancing adorably. Tatiana did several different performance ... all leg, no thighs, oh, for that 'problem'.

Sat. eve after we ALL went out for a quick bite to eat between events, we proceeded to Ansel's graduation to cub scouts. He was so proud to be the only boy to get a special patch in his troop. YAH!

Today we had a 9 hour gathering for the baptism of an in-law baby & huge dinner ... of course, I spent most of my time cooking for the event. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful day for the baby being accepted in Jesus' life.

Now it is margaritaville, feet up, & maybe, JUST maybe I'll stay this way for a wee bit.

Hugs of love, my precious friend ~ Marydon

  15. I love all of your pink pretties in your kitchen and everywhere else. Your bbq sounds wonderful. The cake does too!

I dont remember you telling me about your dad living in Kenner before. My friend that I went with was born and raised there. She really misses it. She grew up with her grandparents and after the hurricane they moved here. My girlfriend bought a liitle cottage and totally remodeled it and it is beautiful. I will have to do a post on it one day. Her grandfather passed away a couple of years ago and now her grandma lives with her. The hurricane was so hard for them. They lost everything. They had a house in Port Sulpher and their son stayed behind and wouldn't leave when the hurricane was coming. He hasn't been found. He was in his 40's. So sad for them all.

Thanks for stopping by with the sweet comments. I always love hearing from you. I plan on being a better blogger in the future. :)

    Hugs,

  18. Hello T~Your kitchen is lovely bedecked in pretty pinks. How I adore the apron. I'm one who likes to keep her precious aprons hanging in a special spot instead of hanging on me, because my life in the kitchen is a busy one.
I would be so sad if a splash were to land and soil my jewel of a treasure.
I've got heavy duty (chef)aprons to handle the task.

Stroll on over for a visit, I'll put the kettle on.
    Sweet wishes,
    Sara
